B. Focus for the study

The focus of the study is geared towards the understanding of safety and security in the levels of customer care and service. This means how customers perceive, assess and rate hotel safety and security. This will also look at information technology related safety and security. The main focuses of research are divided in three categorized parts:

Literature Review Appraisal

Developments of Hotel Industry – This will serve as simple overview of the industry at present.

Hotel Safety and Security Management – This will tackle on issues and its preventive measures and actions. This will cater accordingly to the strategies of hotel safety and security into contextual perspective means, literature studies and its proponents are to be considered.  

Hotel safety and security risks – risk control and management – This will be based on information technology (IT); human resources and some aspects connected to hotel industry like that of Singapore Tourism Base.  This will be discussed side by side to the strategies of safety and security in hotel industry. This can also be supported with specific cases and can also be found in the key activities and recommendation sections.

The importance of customer perception/satisfaction – This is one crucial element that hotels must consider in order to keep at pace of their safety rules and standards for security implementation. This will cater to the quantitative approach by means of employing to statement based questionnaire in two separate parts.

 

Statement Like Survey Questionnaires

a. The understanding of hotel security and safety presence (Customer Perspective Questionnaire 1) – This will comprise of 15 statement questions

b. The application of information technology tools as a means of safeguarding hotel safety and security  (Customer Perspective Questionnaire 2) – This will comprise of 15 statement questions

Case Study Analysis (two of the most well-known hotels in Singapore)

-          Marina Bay Hotel – This can be presented and discussed as well as analyzed through recent company reports, statements, press releases, related studies and a lot more.

-          Marriott Hotel – Same with the above point, Marina Bay Hotel
