Introduction

            Identifying individual behavior and doing assessment regarding with different personalities is hard to remove inside a team. It is being crucial inside a large collection of people or more often called the organization.

            The behavior of every individual is the mark of every person. Individuals are created to e genuine from one another. But these behaviors are also causing hindrances because of the misunderstandings about their individuality. In the circle of people especially in the organization, the low knowledge in understanding individuality can cause trouble in delivering the process of management.

Organizational Behavior

An organizational behavior is the study and application of knowledge about how people, individuals, and groups act in organizations. By interpreting people-organization relationships in terms of the whole person, whole group, whole organization, and whole social system through a system approach. The purpose is to build better relationships by achieving human objectives, organizational objectives, and social objectives.1

The organizational behavior scope a wide range of topics that concerns with the human behavior, applicable organizational change, leadership, and team works, etc. 

Elements of Organizational Behavior

There are elements of the organization that based on the management's philosophy, values, vision and goals. This in turn drives the organizational culture which is composed of the formal organization, informal organization, and the social environment. The culture determines the type of leadership, communication, and group dynamics within the organization. The workers perceive this as the quality of work life which directs their degree of motivation. The final outcomes are performance, individual satisfaction, and personal growth and development. All these elements combine to build the model or framework that the organization operates from.2

            These different elements will soon be used for the organization’s transformation and innovation. And from the idea of having these elements can operate the organization’s performance as it seeks for the best.

Models of Organizational Behavior

There are four major models or frameworks that organizations operate out.3 The models are created for the benefit of the human resource department and therefore for deeply understanding the sequence or different scenarios of the revolving behavior inside the picture of the organization.

Autocratic - The basis of this model is power with a managerial orientation of authority. The employees in turn are oriented towards obedience and dependence on the boss. The employee need that is met is subsistence. The performance result is minimal.

Custodial - The basis of this model is economic resources with a managerial orientation of money. The employees in turn are oriented towards security and benefits and dependence on the organization. The employee need that is met is security. The performance result is passive cooperation.

Supportive - The basis of this model is leadership with a managerial orientation of support. The employees in turn are oriented towards job performance and participation. The employee need that is met is status and recognition. The performance result is awakened drives.

Collegial - The basis of this model is partnership with a managerial orientation of teamwork. The employees in turn are oriented towards responsible behavior and self-discipline. The employee need that is met is self-actualization. The performance result is moderate enthusiasm.

Organizational behavior – An Open Perspective

The organizational behavior is concerned with all aspects of how organizations influence the behavior of individuals and how individuals in turn influence organizations with a unique mission of applying the concepts of behavioral sciences to the pressing problems of management, and, more generally, to administrative theory and practice.4

The aim is to maximize the capabilities and efficiency of every person, including the system, which works under the umbrella of an organization. As the broad approach in the problems about the organizational behavior, there is always be the uncertainty and uncontrollable internal and external environment that affects the performance of the organization. The problems presented should e taken for analytical reasons in answering various issues.

The study of organization and the behavior of the human being can readily open another kind of system perspective. There are factors to be considered in analyzing the organizational behavior such as the human sentiments and attitudes. There is also a matter to do with the technological and sociological forces originating outside the organizations.

Certain outcomes can be experience like for example in the side of a manager. He/she can use the knowledge gain in organizational behavior by conceptualizing every framework, able to understand the individual skills, and seeking experience needed to facilitate effective performance in the workplace.5

Conclusion

The study of organizational behavior enables the team as well as the higher management determine the truth inside the heart of the individuals they hired and ending up with a prime goal in maximizing the development of expertise of each of its team members.

In learning the organizational behavior, it will be given emphasis to understand values and beliefs as they relate to the workplace, diagnosing human resource problems, designing efforts to formulate remedy in various human problems in the workplace, and integrate human resources with the others.

Understanding the records of the organizational behavior includes the understanding of values, ethics, or cultures whether organizational, societal, and international; even manifestations of individual personalities in work situations, and the power and authority.
