Research on Asset Management and Facility Management including:
-Search literature (mainly books, training materials, review papers, relevant websites as well as IEEE and ISO standards).
-Elaborate on how these two discipline areas have evolved and what the content is of each area.
-Review and elaborate on frequently used methodologies, technologies, techniques and philosophies in both areas and recommend the ways to better utilise them when considering integration.
-Search popular management systems used in these areas (at least five in each) and compare the functionalities.
Notes:
1)All discussions need to focus on synergies, differences and gaps in practice and research.
2)Try to use real world examples to justify your views. For example, you can use QUT facility management as a case to discuss some points. (attachment)
3)Include all references in proper referencing style format.
The proposal will be assessed in accordance with the following criteria:
•Search strategy and techniques (breadth and depth of search area; selection and implementation of retrieval tools eg e-journals, data bases, internet; selection and implementation of search strategies and techniques)
•Review (relevance of literature; authenticity of the interpretation of literature; the level to which the information reviewed is contextualised and critiqued)
•Research methodology (relevance; rigor)
•Organisation of research process
•Written communication and presentation (incorporating consideration of required elements, grammar, spelling, referencing, structure and layout).
•A plagiarism check will be conducted using Turnitin software. Therefore, try to acknowledge your resourcing by citation and paraphrasing.
