In the issue of climate change, the health of the greater public is always on consideration. The World Health Organization (WHO) is the one which focus on the different preventive and reactive policies in order to improve the health of the international public in connection to climate change. One of the main problems caused by climate change is the decline in the global freshwater resources, due to the extraction and contamination. This will greatly affect the region of eastern Mediterranean and north Africa. Thus, in connection with this, it is vital for the government to focus on scaling up water and sanitation services, at the same time offering point-of-use disinfection in order to reduce the current problems related to disease and ameliorate, and other health effects of decreasing supply of water. Thus, it is important for local and international government to enforce and strengthen their regulatory in order to ensure the safe use of new sources of fresh water (Campbell-Lendrum & Corvalan 2007).

On the other hand, local and international authorities can react to these problems by defining integrated measures which will focus on the root causes of vulnerability as well as planning towards the effective responses of the said events. For instance, the effect of floods towards the health and living of the people can be reduced by proper land management policies, which will help in order to reduce deforestation, at the same time, conserve the integrity of the watersheds and coastal zones, reduce the impacts of mudslides and storms towards the economy, environment and living of the people; and decrease the chances of sewage contamination (Campbell-Lendrum & Corvalan 2007).

However, as have mentioned, the problems lies towards the cooperation and condition of individual countries, particularly the condition of developing countries.
