“Formative course work” means that you are asked to undertake and submit the work to help in your academic development but the mark does not count towards your final module grade. You will receive feedback.

The aims of this formative coursework are to:
• Enable you to practice academic researching ;
• Give you practice in citation and referencing using Harvard style (see Mu learning Resources handout) to ensure you know how to reference and do not plagiarise
• Give you practice paraphrasing(=putting other authors’ thoughts and words into your own words, without cutting and pasting their words into your coursework)
• Give you practice in constructing argument and presenting different perspectives on a topic
• Give you the opportunity to practice WRITING ACADEMIC ENGLIHS ; YOU may benefit from support from MUBS’ free English language, support unit to enable you to display your abilities to best advantage in you summative ASSESSESSNENT
• HELP YOU UNDERSTAND THE SUBJECT YOU ARE STUDYING
• GIVE YOU INSIGHTS INTO DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVES ON ‘PEOPLE MANAGEMENT’
• GIVE YOU PRACTICE USING THE TURNITIN OASISPLUS SITE
• HELP YOU ADJUST TO OUR EXPECTATIONS OF POST GRADUATE LEVEL WORK AT MUBS
