Introduction

Child prostitution is a major problem of today's society and United Kingdom is not exempted of its presence.

Background

It can be that, child prostitution assumes the selling of flesh by children possibly for the reasons of staying out of homelessness, abuse and mostly to keep away from the reality imposed by poverty. Children prostitutes do ask and seek for an amount of money from the people involved in sex trafficking. The situation now is alarming and pays a lot of attention from human rights advocates and child protection agencies and support groups. There assumes illegal sex business as children is of innocence and pertains to minor age groups. Acting on children rights is imperative for the government to act and decide effective plans for rescuing children and keep them out on the dirty side of prostitution world. The researcher chooses the topic in order to gather ample perspectives with regards to child prostitution and to open the eyes of UK government to be aware of the pressing reality destroying children rights to play and be safe from the stigma within the society. Another, is to provide good insights that sex education and prostitution be discussed into the academic institution, ideally to educate  and at the same make awake the general public that child prostitution is not healthy, for the human rights and children advocates to have channels of communication with children as needed to avoid runaways and forays into the sex trade. Furthermore, children  teachers and other related groups who are working with children should also be educated about the core problem of prostitution and that, community awareness needs to be growing and there implies that teaching junior and senior high school students about prostitution problem and gritty reality for example rape and other violence of street life. Child prostitution raises several issues on strong family foundation, strict education values and grounds, and that the issue on sex trafficking is not just present in women of acceptable age but the situation of prostitution is also rampant in children, the issue on morality and ethical standards of the government and society implies assumptions of terminating child prostitution, to have effective campaigns in reducing numbers and cases of child prostitution, in the United Kingdom context norm. For instance, school oriented campaigns, giving discussion forums, seminars  campaign. The approach for this research study centers on interactions perspective as it can integrate weighted assimilation towards child prostitution.

The purpose of this study is to bring in interactionist approach of the issues deemed relevant of child prostitution, into UK context and the type of issues raised will depend on the social involvement from within situations may have an advantage over exploitation and abuses of human rights – the rights of children not to be involved in business of flesh for the sake of money. The understanding of child protection against sex commercialization needs to collaborate and work with a force along with the UK government, ending child prostitution, create and execute rigorous laws on child welfare as well as protection act. Aside, it the prostitution of children comes within the presence of some abuse for one, sexual abuse and it may be assumed into the child's home. Children enter into prostitution in exchange of money, shelter as well as food security and other reasons as possible.

Definition of key terms

Child – assumes a person of minor age (law imposed the age below 18 years old)

Child Prostitution – are children involved into acts of intercourse (sexually motivated) in exchange of money and other stuffs agreed upon. The prostitute varies on who is affected by the situation

Indeed, the Convention on the Rights of Child ( 2008), have “stated that child prostitution integrate several practices whereby, the child is used by others for sexual activities in return for remuneration, into forms of consideration. Furthermore, the underlying situation pertains that some party aside the child do receive benefit from sex trafficking and that the innocent  child is being ready for the sexual act, violating children rights law from where there can be persons behind the prostitution as there negotiations on the part of sexual offenders and abusers, as one channel of money exchange used by syndicates.

Statistics of child prostitution in the UK

Information pointing to the stats of child prostitution have grown double as data presented by  (1998) noting that the UK society is calling for law change. More from  (1998) have reported that, “several number of children have been convicted to the world of prostitution and it is double in figures per year in the United Kingdom (). Furthermore, statistics have prompted for example, children society's charity, the calling for major law change, rescuing children from prostitution, violation of human rights, as found that “hundreds of children are lured into prostitution acts, sex with pay”.  For example, from BBC data, it was found that in Rotterdam alone, approximately eighty girls are said to be working as prostitutes. The news reported that, “critics argue that for many of the local authorities responsible for their care, bringing these children back from the brink is just too difficult and too expensive. But as the authorities argue over resources, the pimps are quick to act. The ruthless exploitation of children and the human cost of ignoring the problem leaves a legacy of shattered lives and innocence lost”.

Approach (Interactionist perspective)

The interactionist perspective on child prostitution will have to focus on the social meanings of child prostitution and such definitions known associative to children's age under prostitution, the understanding of human behavior, the style of people interpret pressing issues on prostitution and the interactionist view can adhere to social order of the situation, disposing what is on the mindset of people placed towards child prostitution, the situation should conform to reality, being real in ways, aspects and other informative points there is. Accordingly, the interactionist perspective does highlight certain process and ways in which the social world is being presently active and constructed with  spontaneity as to which human rights advocates in the UK can impose actions upon reducing cases of child prostitution.

The interactionist perspectives do emphasize “view of society and social order and analyses core social interactions as there assume to social centered negotiation on child prostitution. Other concepts of the interactionist approach astounds  that child experience on prostitution will lead to such value deviation , the social process taking child prostitutes down into the rejection, hopeless    paths into discriminating  people and the society. The strength of the approach lies in analysis of interactions, supporting social constructive ideas of the situation.

Aim and objectives of the project

The need for this study to center and spotlight on particular interactionist perspectives linking to case analysis/studies pertaining to awareness and understanding of underlying truth and issues relating to child prostitution. The rationale for child prostitution research, the increasing of the matter can determine as well as investigate child prostitution as a major alarming concern recognized by many human rights advocates of present time and imposed better options and long term solutions of terminating realities of child prostitution and create effective research questions that will link to research literature studies essential to have basis of evidence, analysis and outcomes.
