Individual Report
Tasks
1. Choose from one of the following organisations.
• Marks & Spencer
• Tesco
• Coca Cola
• Nike Sportswear
You should conduct an analysis into the selected organisation and submit a
report demonstrating your ability to analyse the organisation and their
performance.
Word Count: 2000 Words
You must include a full bibliography and reference section
Report Format
Title Page
1. Introduction
• Begin with brief details of the aims and objectives of the report.
• List the chosen case study and what they do, the market they operate in and
a paragraph on important historical information
2. Legal Structure
• The type of business organisation – Its legal entity
• Has the business any subsidiaries or is it part of a larger group
• Any legal changes that may be relevant
• Major shareholders
3. Sources of Finance
• How is the organisation financed
• How has profits been distributed
4. Performance
• Conduct a SWOT analysis
• Performance over the last 5 years – Improved or determinate
• What if anything has effected their performance
5. Marketing
• How does the organisation market themselves
• How do they consider their internal and external environment
6. Conclusion
• Summary of data gathered
• Your view of the organisations trading in the last 5 years
• Forecast how you feel the business may proceed

Assessment Criteria
In order to gain a PASS grade (35-59.5%) students must satisfactorily:-
• Prepare a report (2000 words), which demonstrates a basic understanding and
consideration of the relevant motivational theories.
• Demonstrate a fundamental appreciation of some of the implications an
organisation can have on individual motivation.
• Identify practical and realistic solutions to the current issues.
In order to gain a MERIT grade (60-74.5%) students must satisfactorily:-
• Comply with the requirements for a PASS grade and additionally:-
• Prepare a more detailed report (2000 words), which demonstrates a thorough
understanding and consideration of the relevant motivational theories.
• Demonstrate an in depth knowledge of the implications an organisation can
have on individual motivation.
• Be able to communicate ideas in an effective and coherent manner.
In order to gain a DISTINCTION grade (75% or above) students must
satisfactorily:-
• Comply with the requirements for a MERIT grade and additionally:-
• Prepare a comprehensive report (2000 words), which demonstrates a complete
understanding and consideration of the relevant motivational theories.
• Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the implications an
organisation can have on individual motivation.
• Be able to communicate ideas in an effective, imaginative and coherent
manner.
NB: Please remember that in order to pass this module, you need to gain at least
40% as your overall module mark.
