Learning Outcomes covered:

1.      Synthesise the sources, stages and theories of innovation, ie the dynamics of innovation and the relevance for management.

2.      Analyze how the creative characteristics and style of individuals (Senior Marketeers) affect and ultimately determine the form strategies take and the way in which the activity is managed.

3.      Identify and evaluate the systems, processes and structural forms that could contribute and thereby facilitate to innovation and creativity within the organization.

4.      Synthesise some of the different (and currently most influential) organizational approaches to change and innovation, eg Knowledge management, Empowerment, Learning Organisations.

 

Activity

1.      With reference to concepts and cases studied during the module, identify the elements of innovative activity in organizations and discuss the factors that influence such activity.

2.      Using relevant concepts, discuss the extent to which your own organization (or one with which you are familiar) exhibits evidence of innovative activity.

3.      Suggest and justify ways in which innovative activity might be further developed in the organization analyzed for task 2.

 

Projects should be of approximate length 3000 words. Use 1.5 spacing and Times New Roman or Arial typeface only.

Assessment Criteria:

The assignment will be assessed on the following criteria:

l  The structure and clarity of the report

l  The identification and application of concepts

l  The subsequent analysis and interpretation of findings

l  The explicit synthesis of the above leading to recommendations that will improve innovation in the organization
